2019 IU Health Fairbanks Conference on Clinical Medical Ethics

The 2019 IU Health Fairbanks Conference on Clinical Medical Ethics will connect participants to clinical ethics in a variety of ways.  We will have presentations on emerging work in clinical ethics at IU Health and a keynote, which will address ethical issues surrounding difficult discharges.

Two workshop opportunities will give participants a way to engage in ethics topics, from learning the basics of ethics to learning new communication skills.  For detailed workshop descriptions, click here or visit the brochure tab.

Finally, adult and pediatric cases will be presented in a rapid roundtable discussion. This day will enhance the ethics competency of everyone who practices or reflects on patient care.  Our goal is to enhance ethics knowledge, which leads to better practice and patient care.

1. Recognize at least 3 ethically challenging situations in patient care.
2. Extend their foundation of ethics knowledge.
3. Describe a framework for ethical decision-making.
4. Apply communication skills with increased understanding of individual roles on the clinical team.
