Overview

Designed for hematologists, medical oncologists, oncology nurses, oncology pharmacists and radiation oncologists, this program will provide the participants with the latest information available as presented at the 2019 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting, a highly valued conference that focuses on the latest research findings in the treatment of cancer. Oncology/Hematology faculty members from the Indiana University School of Medicine and other academic centers will provide participants with analysis of the more clinically applicable presentations at this year’s ASCO meeting. 

How to obtain CE credits:

Please note, you have to watch all videos in order to receive any CE credit for this online activity.
For Pharmacists - please ensure your CME profile is complete with your NABP ID and birthdate (mm/dd).

  1. Sign in or create a new account by clicking "Sign In" in top left corner. *If you previously participated in a CME activity accredited by IU but do not know your password, please enter your email address and click on the 'Forget Your Password' button. Your password will be emailed to you.
  2. Click the Tests tile to view the online videos.
  3. After the last video, "Panel Discussion II", click the Test tile to attest to completing the activity.
  4. Click the MyCME button and click the Evaluations and Certificates tile. 
  5. Choose the Type of Credit, complete the CME Evaluation, and click Submit.
  6. On the Evaluations and Certificates page, click Download Certificate.


Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recall and describe the newest developments in the treatment of hematological cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, genitourinary cancers, gynecological cancers, melanoma, head/neck cancer, and precision medicine
  2. Integrate multimodality treatment strategies, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, into the management of patients with cancer
  3. Based on the most up-to-date treatments described in learning sessions, apply new knowledge about therapies of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies into their clinical practice
  4. Integrate the most up-to-date information on genomic analyses of cancer into their clinical practice

Accreditation
 
In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 5.75 ANCC contact hours.  Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for 5.75 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.
