Overview
The 2019 INAAP Pediatric Conference will cover a wide range of pediatric hot topics that are relevant to primary care providers who care for children.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: 

  1. Identify the challenges of treating transgender adolescent patients and patients with gender identity questions. Recognize how those challenges can be addressed by primary care providers.
  2. Analyze best practices for talking to adolescent patients about family planning.
  3. Recognize how new technology in the field of telemedicine can be used to the advantage of primary care providers and identify common legal issues associated with telemedicine.
  4. Recognize how new technology in the field of genetics can be used to the advantage of primary care providers.
  5. Recognize best practices for treating food allergies and performing food introduction.
  6. Review and examine current opioid prescribing guidelines for pediatric providers.
  7. Examine how to best coordinate with schools for care of patients and identify common hurdles to care.
  8. Discover how to be an effective advocate for children and review current challenges in the realm of pediatric advocacy.

INAAP is excited to host THE inaugural pediatric CME conference at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, IN August 23-24, 2019.

INAAP's Conference Committee has put together an amazing list of speakers and topics for the conference. From food allergies to hands-on LARC training, there is something for everyone. Keynote speaker Mark Del Monte, JD, who serves as the Interim CEO of the American Academy of Pediatrics, will discuss the many efforts going on at AAP, and how they affect pediatricians and children in Indiana.
