Overview
According to the CDC Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) kills more Americans than all other reportable infectious diseases combined. Safe and effective Direct Acting Antiviral medications are now widely available to cure people living with HCV Infection, but there are not enough clinicians trained to prescribe them. The HCV ECHO helps connect primary care providers to teams of medical experts in the state to improve access to high-quality treatment for Hepatitis C. Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, peer recovery specialists, and case managers share best practices on how to collaboratively manage, diagnosis, treat and treat patients with the complex disease.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Implement guideline-recommended HCV screening based on risk and birth cohort.
  2. Utilize patient characteristics and desires to appropriately and effectively choose HCV treatment strategies which maximize the potential of achieving a cure.
  3. Integrate critical components of comprehensive care for patients with chronic HCV
