Overview
Join the Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) ECHO network of healthcare professionals who are utilizing an easy-to-use and portable imaging tool that allows for quicker discovery of medical issues right at the point of care. This program will educate and train healthcare providers on POCUS use, benefits, and management. In each ECHO session, meet to discuss didactic content related to utilizing POCUS in a vast array of healthcare settings and review POCUS images to support clinical decision-making. The POCUS ECHO meets on the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month from 12:00-1:30 pm ET.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify when point of care ultrasound imaging can be safely used in settings prior to patient transfers to larger healthcare facilities
  2. Identify and apply evidence-based recommendations for point of care ultrasound imaging
  3. Utilize transdisciplinary teams to assess and care for patients requiring POCUS imaging

Registration

The POCUS ECHO meets on the 2nd & 4th Monday of each month from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. ET via Zoom.Please use the the IUPUI ECHO Center registration link and select "Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) ECHO" from the list of ECHO clinic programs.


Accreditation
 
In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
 

Physicians

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
