Breast Cancer Year in Review

This one-day symposium is designed for medical oncologists, general surgeons, pharmacists, nurses and other health care professionals as a review of recent advances in breast cancer diagnosis and treatments. Guest lecturers and the Indiana University School of Medicine faculty in the field of breast cancer will share their expertise with course participants on a variety of topics relating to the care and treatment of cancer patients.

1. Recall and discuss the evolving role of surgery and radiation in management of the axilla
2. Identify and refer appropriate patients for genetic testing, incorporate genetic testing results into treatment decisions
3. Discuss the impact of fear of recurrence on breast cancer survivors
4. Consider use and misuse of diagnostic imaging, review novel imaging methods
5. List novel agents and enumerate common toxicities and management of patients treated with novel agents;
6. Identify patients who may benefit from incorporation of immunotherapy, effectively manage IO-related toxicities
7. Discuss the options for care of patients with TNBC
8. Describe new approaches to management of ER+ and HER2+ breast cancer

Amenities Include:
a. Use of virtual breakout room in the virtual exhibit  space.
b. Permission for representatives to exhibit the product/service.
c. A single set of program materials per Exhibitor (not per representative), if program materials have been created and distributed to attendees. However, in no event will IUSM CME provide a list of program attendees in program materials given to Exhibitors.
d. Permission to attend the educational activity, subject to the conditions set forth below.
e. Acknowledgment at the activity. Pursuant to ACCME SCS 6.4, such acknowledgement will not contain the logo of any individual Exhibitor.  Rather, the course director (or other CME representative) will acknowledge the exhibitors and the availability of the exhibit space generally for attendees who choose to visit it.
