Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Describe the history of funding restrictions on the CDC and NIH
  2. Compare what is specifically restricted with what has really happened
  3. Evaluate how funding and research on firearm violence compares to the scope of the problem
  4. Recognize the signs and symptoms of alcohol withdrawal
  5. Determine the best setting for managing a patient in alcohol withdrawal
  6. Manage patients with medically complicated alcohol withdrawal
