Overview
The TREAT Program (formerly IN-HAMP) is a comprehensive medical education training designed for the healthcare team who are new to treating hepatitis C, as well as those interested in expanding their knowledge of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis and substance use disorders. This one-day training equips the healthcare team with the skills, resources, and confidence needed to begin providing evidence-based hepatitis C treatment immediately following program completion. Throughout the day, participants will receive practical instruction on diagnosing and managing hepatitis C, understanding HIV prevention and care considerations, and integrating person-centered care strategies for SUD into clinical practice. Training includes expert-led presentations, case-based learning, and opportunities for discussion with faculty experienced in viral hepatitis and infectious disease care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe current evidence-based guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C.
  2. Identify appropriate HIV prevention strategies, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), for patients at risk.
  3. Apply harm reduction and person-centered approaches when caring for patients with substance use disorders.
  4. Integrate hepatitis C, HIV, and SUD services into routine clinical practice to improve access to care.
  5. Identify resources and referral pathways to support comprehensive prevention and treatment services.
