Overview
The Indiana University Sleep Medicine Updates Conference will provide a state-of-the-art update on clinical advances in Sleep Medicine. This conference will cover the latest advances in diagnosis and pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatment of sleep disordered breathing, insomnia, circadian rhythm disorder, parasomnias, restless leg syndrome, among other topics.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review the historical development and future directions of sleep medicine.
  2. Identify evidence-based approaches to diagnosing and treating insomnia.
  3. Recognize and manage circadian rhythm disorders across diverse populations.
  4. Explore the relationship between obesity and sleep-related conditions.
  5. Differentiate treatment strategies for primary and complex cases of restless legs syndrome.
  6. Implement best practices for safety and quality assurance in sleep laboratories.
  7. Evaluate non-PAP therapies and advanced PAP modalities for sleep-disordered breathing.
  8. Apply clinical reasoning to challenging sleep medicine cases through interactive discussion.
  9. Reflect on emerging trends, technologies, and equity issues shaping the future of sleep care.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
