Overview
This will be CME on update on diabetes care and improving patients care with diabetes for the healthcare team. Moreover, second day would be diabetes technology course which will provide hands on skills and training on diabetes technologies to improve patient care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review epidemiology of diabetes, obesity and presence of comorbidities or complications
  2. Review evidences on screening and treatment of obesity with or without diabetes
  3. Review evidences on screening and treatment of MALD in people with obesity with and without diabetes
  4. Review best clinical practices on team approach and solutions to improve diabetes and obesity care
  5. Review screening and prevention of type 1 and type 2 diabetes
  6. Review currently marketed diabetes technologies, their indication and recommends on managing diabetes
  7. Improve confidence on use of technologies for better diabetes outcomes with practical hands on skills on use of diabetes technologies to
  8. Review CGM and pump interpretation to improve outcomes

Registration

Basic: This track covers the essential understanding of diabetes devices such as CGM, insulin pump, and connected pens. This is recommended if you are new to diabetes field or attending this meeting for the first time.

Advanced: This track is recommended for those who are already using CGM and insulin pump in their practice and wants to advance their understanding of devices to improve diabetes care. 

It is important that you select a track before you finish your registration!


Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 12.5 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
