Overview
The Midwest Medication Safety Symposium (M2S2) is an annual interdisciplinary regional event with a focus on improving medication safety practices and patient outcomes through education of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, physicians, and the whole interprofessional health care team.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to medication safety.
  2. Review opportunities to improve medication safety through the use of technology.
  3. Explain medication safety strategies for frontline staff, students, new and experienced practitioners.

Registration

Registration is free, but pre-registration is required. This registration covers all 4 sessions. The meeting link you will receive in the post registration email will be recurring.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indianapolis Coalition for Patient Safety. Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.


Physicians
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this live  activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


Nurses
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 1.0 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for 1.0 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.


American Board of Surgery (ABS)

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME of the American Board of Surgery's Continuous Certification Program. It is the CME activity's provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit. 

1 CE is awarded for each hour attended.
