Overview
The Indiana Cancer Consortium Annual Meeting is a unique event that brings together the diverse, broad spectrum of organizations and professionals needed to cause action and create meaningful change in cancer prevention and control. Attendees at this meeting have an extraordinary opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with a wide variety of experts from the Indiana cancer community. The objective of this year's annual meeting is to look at the impact of the pandemic on cancer screenings and learn about innovative ways that we can address this issue in communities across Indiana. Our goal is to stimulate discussion, collaboration, and strategic planning among statewide partners. Stakeholders will also convene to address innovative practices as they relate to the full continuum of cancer prevention and care. The day will include a discussion around the soon-to-be-released Indiana Cancer Control Plan 2023-2027 (ICCP)! Attending the ICC Annual Meeting and participating in ICC coalition activities is a significant step in reducing our cancer burden. Join us as we look forward to a day full of cross-collaboration and networking with our state’s knowledgeable and passionate cancer advocates!

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe at least one strategy that healthcare systems can take to help improve cancer screening rates.
  2. List at least two cancer disparities that can be addressed by increased screenings.
  3. Identify at least one strategy from the Indiana Cancer Control Plan that can be used to improve cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, or survivorship.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana Cancer Consortium. Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 3.5 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
