Overview
The Symposium is designed to provide physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for trauma and critically ill patients with an in-depth look at trauma surgery and critical care. A variety of issues as well as advances in diagnosis and interprofessional management of patients will be discusses in this symposium.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. compare current standards of care to a trauma informed care standard of practice
  2. identify tools and technology available for aiding resuscitation or diagnosis of injuries
  3. collaborate across multiple disciplines, utilizing good communication techniques in critical patient
  4. Identify changes in practices from a local, regional, and national perspective.

Registration

The registration is now CLOSED.

The symposium will be held at the Ivy Tech Community College Culinary and Conference Center located at 2820 N Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Free and convenient parking is located right outside the building.

Registration Fees:

Physicians - $125 
Nurses and other healthcare providers - $75
IUSM Faculty, Eskenazi Health Staff - free
EMS and fire personnel - free
Residents-in-training, fellows, and medical students - free


Cancellation Policy:
A full refund will be given if the cancellation is made at least one month in advance and follows our internal review and approval process. A partial refund of 50% would be allowable if cancellation is made at least two weeks in advance. No refund would be available for cancellations made after that point unless cause of cancellation is due to unforeseen extenuating circumstances such as serious illness, hospitalization, death of a close relative, etc. for which documentation may be requested.

Refunds will be issued based on the method in which the payment had been made. It is the departments intent to process refunds within five (5) days of approving the customers request for such refund.


Accreditation
 
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Indiana University School of Medicine and Eskenazi Health. Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

Nurses
Eskenazi Health and Hospital is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91).
