Overview
This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health practitioners, fellows, residents and fourth year medical students who wish to acquire and/or enhance their skills in providing care to LGBTQ+ particularly gender diverse patients. Participants will engage in training that provides a holistic approach to care including awareness training, behavioral health, HIV/Hep C prevention and treatment and open discussions.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate how providers can become more competent in working with LGBTQ+, particularly in gender diverse patients
  2. Apply the clinical practice of gender affirming hormones and the prevention and treatment of HIV, Hep C regularly in the primary care setting
  3. Create a healthcare environment inclusive of LGBTQ+, particularly in gender diverse populations

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Indiana University School of Medicine and Mosaic Health and Healing Arts. Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
