Overview
Annual meeting of the Midwest Pediatric Cardiology Society (MWPCS) with attendees being care providers from Heart Centers and Children's Hospitals across the Midwest. Planned for an audience of physicians, nurses, and medical staff, the annual conference of MWPCS includes review and discussion of state-of-the-art pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery as practiced at major Midwest medical centers. The topics of discussion may include, but are not limited to, congenital heart disease – pediatric and adult, research, and transplantation; cardiac catheterization, intervention, and electrophysiology; cardiovascular surgery; and non-invasive imaging including echocardiography.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss educational and scientific advancements in pediatric cardiology in Midwest;
  2. Review and discuss of state-of-the-art pediatric cardiology and cardiovascular surgery updates
  3. Describe advances in congenital heart disease – pediatric and adult, research, and transplantation; cardiac catheterization, intervention, and electrophysiology; and non-invasive imaging including echocardiography.

Abstract Submission Instructions

  • Please use the abstract template: Midwest Pediatric Cardiology Society Abstract Submission Template.docx
  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically by email to [email protected] before the deadline of Monday, August 15, 2022 (11:59 EST). Please use ‘MWPCS abstract submission’ as the email subject.
  • There is a word limit of 300 words plus one optional figure or table.
  • Abstracts must include all co-authors of the abstract, including the presenting author and their level of training.  Select the level of training in which the bulk of the work was performed (for example, a project completed primarily in residency but presented in the first year of fellowship should be submitted at a resident level).
  • The abstract should be structured with sections titled: background, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • No revisions or changes will be accepted to submitted abstracts after the deadline.
  • Notifications of acceptance will be provided by email by August 29, 2022.
  • NOTE: If previously submitted to a national or local meeting, an abstract may still be submitted.

Presentations

  • This year’s meeting will be hosted as in-person and virtually.
  • It is preferred that all accepted oral presentations be delivered in-person.

Exhibitor Rates: Standard single table for 1-day conference: $1000, and for entire two days of the conference is $2000 .

Amenities Include:

a. Use of a single table and two chairs in the exhibit space.

b. Exhibitor identification signage, such as a table top sign, table runner, or banner, provided by the exhibitor, is permitted on the table.

c. Permission for two representatives to exhibit the product/service. A third representative can be added for an additional fee in the amount of $500 or the price of registration (to be determined by IUSM CME and the course director). For more than three representatives, additional tables should be purchased.

d. A single set of program materials per Exhibitor (not per representative), if program materials have been created and distributed to attendees. However, in no event will IUSM CME provide a list of program attendees in program materials given to Exhibitors.

e. If you wish to attend presentations: remove your name tag before entering meeting space and refrain from wearing or taking items with company name/logo into meeting space. Also refrain from asking questions or leading the discussion in any ways.

f. IU School of Medicine prohibits exhibitors from providing gifts, regardless of market value. Please do not distribute any gift items with company or product names/logos. Product brochures allowed on exhibit tables.

g. Acknowledgment at the activity. Pursuant to ACCME SCS 6.4, such acknowledgement will not contain the logo of any individual Exhibitor.  Rather, the course director (or other CME representative) will acknowledge the exhibitors and the availability of the exhibit space generally for attendees who choose to visit it.
