Overview
The key highlights of the event include: • a forum to present IBD cases needing medical and/or surgical decisions. • interactive audience participation with moderator lead clinical question generation at key decision points during the case presentation • evidence based medicine and best practice evidence supporting clinical decisions after audience discussion. • 90 minutes with 2 cases (40 minutes each) qualifying for 1.5 AMA CME credits granted by the Indiana University School of Medicine with 20-minute presentation of top 5 research articles for summer of 2024  • opportunity for physicians and surgeons from community and academic health centers in and around Indianapolis to participate. • residents, fellows, and faculty with an interest in developing a career in IBD are encouraged to participate and present cases. • option to login remotely through zoom will also be available, although in person attendance is encouraged (till capacity of venue is met). • physicians and healthcare providers are encouraged to pre-register (for free) but will be expected to RSVP one week in advance to allow for adequate venue space and meal options. • Online registration will continue till the day of the event. • a forum to network with medical and surgical colleagues and industry contacts with a special interest in IBD in the state of Indiana and beyond.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will understand:

  1. Evidence based medicine and best practice evidence supporting clinical decisions after audience discussion in the management of IBD
  2. The management of IBD in a setting of hematologic malignancy
  3. Risk factors and management of disseminated histoplasmosis in IBD
  4. Identifying ileal pouch anal anastomosis complications
  5. Management of stomal pyoderma and pyoderma in IBD
  6. Stoma care and common quick fixes for stoma complications
