Overview
The program is a multi-disciplinary approach to vascular care and treatment. Based on survey comments from prior years, topics of interest are incorporating into this year program and will be presented by specialists with particular expertise. The purpose of this symposium is to develop a platform to provide ongoing educational opportunities and the potential for consultation by experts in the field. The overarching goal of the symposium is to improve the quality of care provided to patients with vascular disease resulting in an enhance quality of life and in some cases, preservation of life and limb. This symposium will enable us to disseminate knowledge regarding advancements in the care of patients with acute and chronic venous disease; the role of anti-platelets, anticoagulants and statins in the medical care of vascular disease; a demystification of standard vascular labs; unique aspects of vascular care as seen in the dermatologic, diabetic, arthritic and pediatric patient; the changing landscape of care for the patient with carotid artery, aortic aneurysmal and lower extremity vascular occlusive disease; difficult pathologies associated mesenteric artery occlusive disease and some insight into the role of population health in managing vascular disorders. We will address aspects of care, which will aid in the management of patients afflicted with vascular disease whether that care be provided by physician, pharmacist, podiatrist, PA/NP, nurse or wound care specialist.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize the use of anticoagulants (new and old) in patients and recognize the current best practices for patients with vascular disorders, both arterial and venous.
  2. Explain when Peripheral artery disease (PAD) warrants advanced imaging and interventional care, what options exist (Percutaneous or open) and the risks and benefits of each
  3. Identify some of the new avenues of care and investigation in patients with carotid and AAA disease.
  4. Recognize vasculitis from the dermatologic perspective.
  5. Reducing health disparities in Vascular care
  6. Discuss outcomes of Best-CLI Trial

Event will be held March 10, 2023 at Newfields, 4000 N Michigan Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46208

Registration is free to all healthcare professionals, but you must register.
