Overview
The Cancer Prevention and Survivorship Care ECHO is a platform for delivering continuing education and actionable learning in addition to real-time consultation to health professionals with the ultimate goal of improving health care delivery of services. Topics to be covered in this proposed project were selected based on identified gaps in provider knowledge, the availability of experts at Indiana University to provide education targeted to those gaps, and existing Cancer ECHO curriculum used by other Cancer experts, and address cancer prevention as well as the special needs of Cancer Survivors. The ECHO includes didactics which align with three ICC statewide priorities to: 1) increase colorectal cancer screening rates; 2) increase human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates and provider recommendations; and 3) decrease tobacco/ e-cigarette use.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize evidence-based screening and treatment options related to Cancer conditions;
  2. Identify evidence-based resources for optimal clinical practices related to Cancer; and
  3. Provide professional expertise and experience to interdisciplinary professionals to address concerns related to Cancer.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. Nurses Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 1.50 ANCC contact hours.  Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Pharmacists Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for 1.50 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion. Physicians Indiana University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Social Workers Indiana University School of Medicine has been approved by the Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor Board to provide Category I Continuing Education program. This activity qualifies for 1.50 Category I CEU as outlined by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board.
