Overview
Learn about the direct and indirect effects of COVID-19 on your patients and the emotional difficulties often associated with its treatment. Take a deeper look into the risk factors for opioid misuse and overdose. Learn about tools and resources for families and caregivers to prevent opioid overdose and raise awareness. Learn about the overlap of brain injury and intimate partner violence (IPV). Learn how to recognize and raise awareness about acquired brain injury (ABI) and partner-inflicted brain injury in the IPV population. Learn self-care strategies and ways to identify signs you may need to step back and take care of your own needs.

Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. List direct and indirect effects of COVID-19 on your patients and the emotional difficulties often associated with its treatment.
  2. Identify tools and resources for families and caregivers to prevent opioid overdose and raise awareness.
  3. Identify raise awareness about acquired brain injury (ABI) and partner-inflicted brain injury in the IPV population.
  4. Describe self-care strategies and ways to identify signs you may need to step back and take care of your own needs
