Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Relate to an experience with overwhelming sensory or affirming reinforcement that has contributed to feelings of overwhelm and/or interest in repeated engagement.
  2. Name at least 2-3 traits that may be observed or gathered in interview to ascertain an autistic patient.
  3. Recall at least 2-3 tips for successful communication with patients and/or caregivers.
  4. Identify at least 1-2 supports that may be of value to implement in their setting.
  5. Bookmark or save resources for supports, consultation or ongoing training for themselves, their teams or the patients and caregivers with which they interact.
