Overview
The LGBTQ+ Health ECHO at the IU Indianapolis ECHO Center trains healthcare providers in evidence-based practices for offering respectful, patient-centered, and culturally-competent healthcare to all patients in the LGBTQIA+ community. Each ECHO meets virtually on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 2:30pm - 4:00pm.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Develop and apply skills to ensure that LGBTQ+ patients feel comfortable in an inclusive healthcare setting
  2. Recognize and reduce barriers to medical care in the LGBTQ+ community
  3. Identify the unique risks in the LGBTQ+ population
  4. Recall and implement the basic elements of LGBTQ+ specific healthcare

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
 
Nurses
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 1.50 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for 1.50 ACPE contact hours. Pharmacists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Credit will be provided to NABP CPE Monitor within 60 days after the activity completion.
