Overview
The objective of this activity is to discuss patient management of actual cases seen. The cases are presented as unknowns to the audience members who then have the opportunity to consider how they would manage the patient. Then the literature review portion of the presentation will provide an evidence base for how the patient should be managed.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Improve Patient Care
  2. Discuss and apply Procedural Skills
  3. Recall Medical Knowledge
  4. Discuss Practice-based learning and improvement
  5. Employ evidence based practice
  6. Evaluate the role of diagnostics for UTI including urinalysis, urine culture and asymptomatic bacteriuria. Compare and contrast differences between 2011 guidelines vs proposed updates. Justify the use of aminoglycosides in the management of UTIs
