Overview
One Day Conference - 12 Talks

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the literature around whole blood resuscitation in pediatric trauma patients
  2. Describe the benefits of whole blood resuscitation for trauma patients
  3. Describe important components of a non-accidental child abuse screening protocol
  4. Identify the physical exam findings of physical child abuse
  5. Explain possible pitfalls in the documentation of possible abuse/neglect
  6. Discuss important components of documentation in cases of possible physical child abuse
  7. Review the pathophysiology of injury in button battery & magnet ingestions
  8. Describe early management of these ingestions
  9. Define burn severity and location TBSA burns for peds
  10. Discuss initial management (dressings, prevention of hypothermia, volume resuscitation, where to take patient, etc)
  11. Identification of burns associated with possible physical abuse
  12. List how to dress wounds for home/transfer
  13. Decide which burns generally should be transferred for immediate management
  14. Describe the evaluation and management of concussions in this population
  15. Describe important underlying injuries in patients with cervical and abdominal seatbelt signs
  16. Define acute stress disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder
  17. Identify signs/symptoms of important sports injuries
  18. List the signs/symptoms of clinically significant pediatric cervical spine injuries
  19. Describe the evolution of car safety in IndyCar racing
  20. Describe the important tools needed for safe airway management in pediatric trauma patients

Registration

Event will be held April 12, 2024 at Dallara IndyCar Factory, 1201 N Main St, Speedway, IN 46224

Registration fee is $25.00. You must pre-register.
