Overview
This webinar will discuss the role of pharmacy in tobacco cessation, the Indiana Protocol for pharmacists prescribing quit-smoking medications, and how to refer your patients to local pharmacies for help with quitting.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Develop an understanding of the role that pharmacists can play in helping patients quit using tobacco products.
  2. Describe the process by which pharmacists implements tobacco treatment services according to the Indiana protocol.
  3. Describe methods to assist health care organization and health care providers with referring patients to pharmacies for assistance with quitting.

Registration is free, but pre-registration is required.

In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of 1.0 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Social Workers
