Overview

self paced online (5) pre-recorded lectures with board certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician. Content is based on evidence-based Lifestyle Medicine strategies.

Module 1: Why lifestyle medicine holds the key for better health and sustained weight loss in - in this module you will learn intro to lifestyle medicine, chronic disease and obesity in US, research studies supporting benefits of lifestyle medicine and effects of meat diet.

Module 2: How you can make better health and sustained weight loss a reality - in this module you will learn stages of change, you will find your WHY of your change, assessing how ready are you, what you need to succeed and how to set SMART goals.
Module 3: What to do for better health and sustained weight loss - Focusing whole food plant- based nutrition - in this module you will learn whole food plant based diet for weight loss and healthy lifestyle, common diet myths, how to read food labels, grocery shopping tips, easy plant-based recipes and several lifestyle medicine educational PDF resources.
Module 4: What to do for better health and sustained weight loss - day to day eating tips - in this module you will learn to compare several different famous diets, addressing barriers for sustained weight loss, healthy diet tips for athletes, healthy eating tips and how to optimize your immune response. 
Module 5: What to do better health and sustained weight loss - focusing on physical activity, sleep hygiene, stress reduction, and social connectedness - in this module you will learn physical activity tips, sleep hygiene, stress reduction strategies, and social connectedness strategies and several lifestyle medicine PDF educational resources.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: 

  1. Identify Lifestyle Medicine pillars, chronic disease and obesity in US, research studies supporting benefits of Lifestyle Medicine and effects of meat diet.
  2. Describe stages of change, how to set SMART goals.
  3. Discuss whole food plant based diet, common diet myths, how to read food labels, healthy grocery shopping tips, easy plant based recipes, protein vs. animal proteins.
  4. Recognize famous diets, addressing barriers for sustained weight loss, healthy diet tips for athletes, how to optimize immune system.
  5. Identify importance of Physical activity, sleep hygiene, stress reduction strategies, social connectedness strategies and steps to health restoration
