Overview
This orientation program provides an integrated the orientation to (advanced practice) providers and physicians at IUHP and faculty the IU School of Medicine. This orientation teaches new providers and faculty about safety and quality guidelines, cultural competence, corporate compliance, and institutional policies.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Apply interpersonal skills to increase collaboration between providers and faculty across different areas of the enterprise
  2. Avoid or reduce medical errors and adhere to patient safety guidelines
  3. Adhere to enterprise and national compliance standards related to sensitive and confidential information, resulting in fewer violations of patient and institutional privacy
  4. Recognize their biases and have strategies to account for them, resulting in fewer reports of discrimination by patients, learners, and colleagues
  5. Interpret the mission and values of the institution using their own words.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana University Health Physicians. Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
