Overview

This activity is open to IU Health advanced providers only. A one day live simulation hands on series provided by IU Health practitioners regarding Emergency Medicine.

Topics to be covered are:
1. Sepsis
2. Anaphylaxis with difficult airway
3. Upper GI bleed
4. Adult trauma
5. Peds status asthmaticus
6. Chest pain/neuro symptoms - Aortic dissection


Objectives
  1. Apply an evidence based approache to some common emergency medicine problems
  2. Accurately identify at risk Sepsis Patients in the ED and rapidly and meaningfully communicating actionable recommendations to clinicians. Sepsis deaths increase 8% every hour before treatment begins
  3. Discuss and access the management and disposition of patients presenting to the ED with GI Bleed
  4. Demonstrate early identification, accurate assessment of the severity of airway obstruction and response to therapy in the ED for Peds experiencing acute asthma symptoms.
