Overview
This course will provide point-of-care cardiac, OB, vascular access and aorta ultrasound instruction for educators and providers. Topics will be covered in lectures and hands-on training performed on standardized models.

Objectives
At the end of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Perform bedside echocardiography to rapidly diagnose and guide management in patients presenting with a cardiovascular complaint
  2. Perform focused aorta ultrasound to identify aneurysm and dissection
  3. Perform focused trauma ultrasound to identify free intraperitoneal and/or intrathoracic fluid
  4. Perform focused gallbladder ultrasound to identify cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, and choledocholithiasis
  5. Learn procedural guidance for vascular access

Registration

The registration is free, but seats are limited. Pre-registration is required.

The Point of Care Ultrasound session is held at Health Information and Translational Sciences (HITS), Room 1110, located at 410 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
