Overview

SAMS will be hosting its 7th Annual National Conference in Orlando, FL on February 16th – 18th, 2018.  The theme of this conference will be Monumental Developments in Medicine: Advancing Healthcare through Technology, Research, & Public Policy.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize challenges of global medical relief including response and emergency assessments in the field
  2. Describe strategies to providing full spectrum of sub-specialty and surgical care to refugees in their host countries and providing trauma care in Mosul, Iraq
  3. Discuss intervention approaches and ethical challenges in public health crises, and management strategies for mental health challenges in conflict, basics on child psychiatry, and caring for the caretaker
  4. Describe key points in current and future United States healthcare reform, and describe impact of healthcare rationing on patient outcomes
  5. Recall new breakthroughs in medicine related to urological surgery innovation, Fetal MRI, treatment of anaphylaxis; management of urticaria and Angioedema; and updates in kidney transplant
