Overview
Designed for medical oncologists, surgeons, oncology nurses, and oncology pharmacists, this program
will provide the participants with the latest information available as presented at the 2017 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting, a highly valued conference which focuses on the latest research findings in the treatment of cancer. Eleven of the IUSM’s Oncology/Hematology faculty members will provide participants with their analysis of the more clinically applicable presentations
at this year’s ASCO meeting.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recall and describe the newest developments in the treatment of a variety of solid tumors, including breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, Genitourinary (GU) cancers, malignant melanoma, head/neck cancer, sarcoma and CNS malignancies
  2. Recognize and explain the newest developments in the treatment of a variety of hematologic malignancies
  3. Integrate multimodality treatment strategies, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy, into the management of patients with lung cancer
  4. Based on the most up-to-date treatments described in learning sessions, incorporate new knowledge about therapies of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies into their clinical practice
