Overview
The Hepatitis C ECHO is an interprofessional, case-based continuing education program designed to strengthen healthcare teams’ ability to diagnose, manage, and treat hepatitis C, hepatitis B, liver disease, and related complex conditions. Through recurring virtual ECHO sessions, participants engage with peers and an interprofessional hub team to review de-identified cases, discuss best practices, and apply current evidence related to viral hepatitis testing, treatment, medication access, adherence, retention in care, cirrhosis management, liver disease complications, substance use, and care coordination. The program is intended for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, peer recovery specialists, case managers, and other healthcare team members involved in hepatitis care.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Apply evidence-based guidelines for hepatitis C and hepatitis B screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  2. Interpret viral hepatitis test results and liver disease assessments to guide treatment planning and referral decisions.
  3. Develop interprofessional care strategies to support medication access, treatment adherence, retention in care, and follow-up.
  4. Identify management considerations for patients with viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver disease, substance use, or other comorbidities.
  5. Use case-based recommendations and peer consultation to improve team-based hepatitis care and care coordination.
