Overview

The Policy Academy: Catapulting Leadership Roles Across the Health Policy and Advocacy Landscape is designed to empower nurse leaders and healthcare professionals with essential advocacy and legislative knowledge, provide a roadmap for advocacy goals, and drive meaningful change in health policy through a three-pronged approach.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Establish the skills and strategies needed to expand their influence in health policy and advocacy roles.
  2. Examine key developments in health policy at local, national, and global levels, and their implications for advocacy efforts.
  3. Identify tools and frameworks for designing, implementing, and evaluating impactful advocacy campaigns.
  4. Foster cross-sector partnerships to enhance coordinated advocacy and policy initiatives.
  5. Draw lessons from success stories and best practices of leaders who have effectively influenced health policy and driven systemic change.
  6. Develop personalized action plans to elevate their leadership and advocacy efforts within their organizations and communities.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Indiana University School of Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses
Indiana University School of Medicine designates this activity for a maximum of  4.75 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
