Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the common types of child maltreatment and the nuances in differentiating abuse from other conditions
  2. Incorporate trauma informed care practices in patient encounters
  3. Discuss the age specific medical evaluations and exceptions for child with suspected physical abuse
  4. Effectively communicate with social and legal authorities regarding medical and social issues in child maltreatment
