Overview
Update on Surgical Management of Hearing Loss will focus on the surgical management of hearing loss with an emphasis on newly approved cochlear implant and osteointegrated technologies.

This educational opportunity is geared toward practitioners involved in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, specifically General Otolaryngologists-Head and Neck Surgeons, Otologists and Audiologists.

This conference will be held at Fesler Hall on IUPUI campus. Fesler Hall is located at 1130 W. Michigan Street.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize evidence based treatment options for sudden hearing loss, understand IT steroids, when to administer, for how long, and when is it too late;
  2. Discuss single sided hearing loss treatment--long term;
  3. Recognize the indications for use of osseointegerated hearing devices;
  4. Describe hybrid cochlear implants---audiogram/spondee criteria expected results; and
  5. Discuss cochlear implants—adults and pediatric; work up of congenital deafness, time of implantation.

Registration

Registration is limited to 50 participants due to meeting space capacity. At this time, no walk in registrations will be accepted for this conference.

Breakfast and parking are included in registration costs.

Parking: Please park in the Riley Outpatient Center (ROC) Garage located at 575 Riley Hospital Drive.  Parking passes will be provided for the ROC Garage only. Please do not park in the Simon Family Tower Garage.

Walking Directions from ROC Garage to Fesler Hall: Use east exit of the garage.  Fesler Hall will be on your left (to the north).  Using the main entrance (south doors) go up one flight of stairs and take the elevator (or walk) up to the 4th floor.

ADA Accessible Entrance: Use north entrance to Fesler Hall (opposite side of the main entrance).  Use wheel-chair accessible ramp to enter building and take elevator to 4th Floor.

Note for Drop Offs: If you will be dropped off, please note that direct street access to Fesler Hall is blocked due to road construction. The best way to access Fesler Hall is to use the Riley Outpatient Center Garage (575 Riley Hospital Drive) as your drop off location and follow the instructions above (Walking Directions from ROC Garage to Fesler Hall).

The Indiana University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
