REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.The Practical Pearls General and Community Pediatrics Winter Series is designed for pediatricians, family practice physicians and others providing primary healthcare to children. This course will review current scientific advances as they apply to daily practice. Participants will advance their diagnostic and therapeutic skills through this highly practical evidence based review.


At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Explain the surgical indications for ear tube placement and adenotonsillectomy;
  2. Identify the development of diarrhea positive hemolytic uremic syndrome in children;
  3. Diagnose urinary tract infections: when to get a catheterized specimen! As well as be able to distinguish between voiding dysfunction and recurrent UTIs; and
  4. Define describe current diagnostic criteria and therapeutic strategies for abdominal pain associated functional gastrointestinal disorders in children .
