This 2-day conference is designed for nurses, physicians, physician assistants, psychologists, speech pathologists, social workers, and other allied health providers.


At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  1. Develop and apply skills to establish rapport and ensure that LGBTQ patients feel comfortable in their healthcare setting
  2. Recognize and reduce barriers to medical care in the LGBTQ community and help patients to overcome
  3. Offer LBGTQ patients competent primary care, including the recommended USPSTF screening tests and if providers are uncomfortable providing such care, ensuring referral to a provider or clinic who will provide such care
  4. Identify the unique health risks in the LGBTQ population
  5. Recall the basic elements of LGBTQ specific healthcare

Location and Parking: The IU Health Neuroscience Center is located in downtown Indianapolis at 362 W. 15th Street, just south of Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. Parking is available for a nominal fee in the attached parking garage.
