At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe common transgender terminology, prevalence, and epidemiology in order to provide appropriate and accurate information to patients and their families;
- Adapt the current practice environment to create a welcoming and safe place for transgender and gender nonconforming youth to receive health care; and
- Assess risk and protective factors to formulate a treatment plan for a transgender or gender nonconforming child or adolescent.
