Overview
The Indiana University Critical Care Updates Conference will provide a state-of-the-art update on clinical advances in Critical Care Medicine. This conference will cover the latest advances in sepsis and septic shock, ventilator management, airway management in the ICU, neurologic critical care, post-ICU recovery, among other topics.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Participants will critically evaluate differing perspectives on two controversial topics in the management of sepsis and septic shock.
  2. Healthcare professionals will understand how to design an individualized mechanical ventilation strategy for ARDS patients, incorporating the latest research findings and best practices to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Participants will be able to describe the latest advancements in critical care ultrasound technology and techniques, including their applications in diagnosing and managing critically ill patients.
  4. Participants will be able to describe the latest evidence-based guidelines and advancements in the management of neurocritical care conditions, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, and severe traumatic brain injury.
  5. Attendees will identify common challenges faced by patients post-discharge from critical care and evaluate the strategies employed by Critical Care Recovery Clinics to address these challenges.
  6. Healthcare professionals will design a framework for establishing a Critical Care Recovery Clinic in their own institutions, incorporating best practices and evidence-based approaches to support patient recovery.
  7. Healthcare professionals will develop evidence-based treatment protocols for managing pneumonia in the ICU, incorporating insights and data from recent clinical trials to optimize patient outcomes.
  8. Healthcare professionals will develop a comprehensive management plan for patients with right heart failure in the ICU, incorporating best practices, multidisciplinary approaches, and individualized patient care strategies.
  9. Participants will be able to summarize the latest evidence-based guidelines and therapeutic approaches for managing left heart failure in critically ill patients.
