Overview
This course is designed for gastroenterologists, internists, family practice providers, and other primary care providers and nurses. The course will examine new developments in gastroenterology and hepatology, specifically "breakthrough" research with clinical relevance for physicians, advanced practice providers and other members of the healthcare team.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Determin which colorectal cancer prevention tests should be used for screening, surveillance, and diagnostic situations.
  2. Explain rationale for use of endoscopy to treat large benign colorectal polyps.
  3. Recognize when antibiotics are indicated for the treatment of acute diverticulitis.
  4. Describe what the best diagnostic tests are for patients presenting with acute lower GI bleeding.
  5. Identify how to work up fecal incontinence and initiate treatment.
  6. Define what tests should be ordered to evaluate early satiety and nausea.
  7. Recall medical, endoscopic, and surgical therapies for reflux.
  8. Identify and apply recommendations for screening and surveillance of Barrett’s esophagus.
  9. Classify pancreatic cysts and know which cysts have the greatest risk for pancreatic cancer, and recommendations for monitoring pancreatic cysts.
  10. Describe medical treatments for chronic pancreatitis.
  11. Recognize best treatments for viral hepatitis.
  12. Evaluate patients with elevated amino transferases and alkaline phosphatase.

Exhibitor Rates: Standard single table for 1-day conference: $1750.00.

Amenities Include:

a. Use of a single table and two chairs in the exhibit space.

b. Exhibitor identification signage, such as a table top sign, table runner, or banner, provided by the exhibitor, is permitted on the table.

c. Permission for two representatives to exhibit the product/service. A third representative can be added for an additional fee in the amount of $500 or the price of registration (to be determined by IUSM CME and the course director). For more than three representatives, additional tables should be purchased.

d. A single set of program materials per Exhibitor (not per representative), if program materials have been created and distributed to attendees. However, in no event will IUSM CME provide a list of program attendees in program materials given to Exhibitors.

e. Permission to attend the educational activity, subject to the conditions set forth below.

f. Permission to participate in any meals/refreshments at the activity.

g. Acknowledgment at the activity. Pursuant to ACCME SCS 6.4, such acknowledgement will not contain the logo of any individual Exhibitor.
