Target Audience
Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Surgery General, Hospitalist, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, Family Medicine

Overview

This course will provide point-of-care ultrasound instruction on aorta, FAST, and cardiac for educators and providers. These topics will be covered in lecture and hand-on training performed on standardized models. 


Objectives
  1. Perform bedside echocardiography to rapidly diagnose patients presenting with a cardiovascular complaint
  2. Perform a FAST exam to identify free intraperitoneal and intrathoracic free fluid, and guide acute management.
  3. Perform an aorta ultrasound exam to identify a AAA.

Registration

The registration is free, but seats are limited. Please register by Sunday, February 17.

The Point of Care Ultrasound session is held at Health Information Translational Sciences (HITS), Room 1110 at 410 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
