Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Review the results of arterial ligation in early World War II;
  2. Describe the change to arterial repair in later World War II; and
  3. Document the accomplishments of Harris B. Shumacker, Jr., MD during World War II and beyond.
